TYPES OF THERAPY

Emotion-focused
therapy (EFT)
dialectiCal-behavioral
therapy (DBT)
Psychodynamic
therapy
psychoeducation
EFT helps individuals, couples, and families better understand, process, and transform their emotional experiences. Rooted in the belief that emotions are central to our sense of self and relationships, EFT supports you in identifying underlying feelings, making sense of emotional patterns, and responding to yourself and others with greater clarity and care. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviours, this approach gently guides you toward the deeper emotions that shape your experiences; helping to heal old wounds, strengthen connection, and create lasting change.
Psychodynamic Therapy explores how your past experiences - particularly early relationships - shape your present thoughts, emotions, and patterns in relationships. Integrating principles from attachment theory, it considers how early bonds with caregivers influence your sense of safety, trust, and connection in relationships today. By bringing unconscious processes into awareness, this approach helps you understand recurring themes, emotional triggers, and relational patterns that may feel hard to shift. Within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, you’re invited to explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion, fostering greater self-understanding, emotional growth, and more secure, authentic connections with others.
Psychoeducation helps you understand how psychological research and theory apply to your unique experiences. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all explanations, it involves making sense of concepts—such as stress responses, attachment patterns, or emotional regulation—in a way that feels personally relevant and meaningful. This deeper understanding can bring clarity to what you’re going through, reduce self-blame, and support you in making intentional, informed changes as you move toward growth and healing.
DBT is designed to help you navigate intense emotions, reduce overwhelm, and build a more balanced and meaningful life. Grounded in the idea of holding both acceptance and change, DBT supports you in developing tools to manage distress, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and stay present in the moment. Through a combination of validation and gentle challenge, this approach helps you make sense of your experiences while also learning concrete strategies to respond more effectively, especially in moments that feel difficult or out of control.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
infertility, prenatal,
postnatal therapy
Support for major
life changes
support for students
CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It helps you identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and develop more balanced, realistic ways of responding to life’s challenges. With a focus on practical strategies and skill-building, CBT empowers you to create meaningful changes in how you think, feel, and act; supporting improved mood, reduced anxiety, and a greater sense of confidence and control.
Therapeutic support for infertility, pregnancy, the postnatal period, and experiences of loss offers a compassionate space to navigate the emotional complexity of this journey. Whether facing the grief and uncertainty of infertility, the pain of miscarriage or pregnancy loss, the vulnerability of pregnancy, or the adjustment to life after birth, this work centres on making sense of deeply personal experiences with care and understanding. Attention is given to the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that can arise, supporting a greater sense of grounding, connection, and self-compassion during a time that is often both meaningful and challenging.
Major life changes—such as moving to a new country, experiencing grief, navigating divorce, or adjusting to shifting family or home dynamics—can bring uncertainty, stress, and shifts in how we see ourselves. These transitions often trigger our vulnerabilities, revealing patterns in how we struggle, respond to stress, or relate to others. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore these challenges, understand their impact on your identity and relationships, and uncover where deeper personal growth is possible. Through evidence-based approaches and reflective discussion, this work helps you process emotions, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with your values and sense of self. Rather than “fixing” change, therapy guides you in understanding it, navigating it thoughtfully, and discovering new ways to thrive while integrating life’s shifts.
Academic life brings new challenges and pressures that can affect both emotional well-being and a student’s sense of identity. Adjusting to rigorous coursework, new social environments, or the demands of university life can trigger vulnerabilities, highlighting patterns in how we struggle, cope, and relate to others. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore these experiences, understand their impact on emotions and self-perception, and uncover areas for deeper personal growth. Through reflective discussion and evidence-based strategies, students can build resilience, manage stress more effectively, and develop a stronger sense of self, allowing them to navigate academic pressures while maintaining balance and well-being.

Individual Therapy
Are you overwhelmed, drained, on edge and easily triggered? Do you struggle to make room for your struggles and feelings? Are you typically very hard on yourself? Do you struggle with loneliness, shame and fear? Do you avoid conflict or put things off because it feels safer or easier? Are you experiencing a loss and having a hard time adjusting to daily life?
All of these struggles (and of course more) can bring people to therapy, and it can be a relieving experience to find a safe space to address issues that have gone unchecked, been downplayed, and or are generally avoided. Individual therapy offers a supportive space to explore the painful or stuck places in our lives and move toward meaningful change. Parenting support and coaching
Do you struggle to stay calm, find yourself avoiding meltdowns to keep the peace, become anxious around bed time and meal times, and notice thoughts or feelings inside that bring up a lot of shame or guilt?
It's no secret that parenting is hard. And yes it brings deep love, joy, and fulfilment, but it does involve taking on a vital role that can feel both demanding and emotionally activating. Parenting support is focused on practical support, by equipping you with the tools, the words to use in challenging moments and the space to explore and navigate boundaries, transitions, demanding or triggering moments and meltdowns. It is also focused on the deeper work of unpacking, exploring and working through our triggers, and any unresolved pain that this elicits. This deeper work is harder, but allows us to regulate more automatically, builds safety where we did not previously experience and empowers us to face the day-to-day challenges with more confidence, grace and compassion.

Therapy for teens
Are you a teen who is feeling easily overwhelmed or frustrated, struggling to say no, constantly worrying about how others perceive you, burning the candle at both ends, and/or struggling to fit in and feel understood by those around you? Are you a frustrated parent who can't reach your teen and feels pushed away?
This is one of the most challenging periods of life. Teens are increasingly drawn towards independence, social belonging and developing and exploring values and/or perspectives that may not quickly align with family members, and they're doing all of this under increasing academic pressures, changes in bodies and brains and shifts in sleep patterns. This combination can make feelings seem bigger, stress harder to manage, and reactions more immediate.
Therapy provides a supportive, confidential space to step outside these pressures. It offers an opportunity to make sense of experiences, process challenges, and develop practical tools for managing emotions, relationships, and stress.

Our work is tailored to you, drawing from evidence-based approaches that align with your unique needs and goals.
